As an important aspect, publication ethics must be explained transparently to improve the quality of research globally. Additionally, publishers have no authority to alter the content of articles and are only responsible for ensuring the publication process proceeds on schedule.
For Editors
The editor is responsible for every article published in Jurnal Keperawatan YKY Yogyakarta.
They are obliged to assist authors in adapting their manuscripts to the guidelines set by the journal management.
In the final decision-making process, editors may coordinate with other editors or reviewers involved.
Manuscripts must be evaluated objectively, based on their quality and scientific contribution, without regard to the author's nationality, ethnicity, political views, race, religion, gender, position, or institutional affiliation. Editors must also recuse themselves from assignments if there is a potential conflict of interest.
Editors are required to ensure that the identity of the author is not known to the reviewers, and vice versa, in order to maintain the principle of blind review.
The editor's decision regarding the manuscript must be communicated to the author, accompanied by comments from the reviewers, unless such comments are offensive or defamatory.
If the author requests that a particular person not be involved as a reviewer, the editor must consider such a request in a reasonable and appropriate manner.
The editor and the entire editorial team must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
If there is a suspected ethical violation or dispute related to authorship, the editor will refer to the COPE workflow guidelines as a reference for handling the case.
For Reviewers:
Reviewers are responsible for assessing ethical aspects and the possibility of violations in research and publications.
Reviewers are expected to complete the review process within the specified time limit and are required to notify the editor if they are unable to complete it on time.
The confidentiality of the content of the manuscript under review must be fully maintained by the reviewer.
Reviewers are not allowed to accept review assignments if there is a potential conflict of interest with one of the authors.
