Peer Review Process

Jurnal Keperawatan YKY Yogyakarta is committed to providing a fast publication process through initial assessment by the editorial committee, which consists of members of the editorial team. The main purpose of this initial stage is to determine whether the manuscript is eligible to proceed to the peer review process or be rejected.

The decision to publish an article is based on editorial evaluation and the peer review process. At the initial stage, all manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial team to assess their suitability. This process aims to provide a quick decision, especially for manuscripts that do not align with the journal's focus and expected novelty.

Sometimes, manuscripts are returned to the author with a request for revision as an initial step to help the editor determine whether the manuscript is suitable for submission to reviewers. Authors typically receive an initial decision within 1–2 weeks of submitting their manuscript.

During the review process, each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers with expertise in the topic being discussed. The editor's primary consideration in determining publication eligibility is based on feedback from the reviewers. The final decision remains with the editor-in-chief and editorial committee, taking into account the reviewers' suggestions. One round of the review process typically takes approximately three weeks.

The entire review process is conducted as a blind review and managed by the editor through the available editorial system.
