Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transition from childhood to adulthood. Adolescents in the process of growth and development often experience conflict both with themselves and with the environment. Changes that occur in adolescents, if not controlled properly, can trigger emotional mental disorders. Efforts to improve emotional mental health can be done by doing regular physical activity. Objective: Determine the relationship between physical activity levels and mental emotional disorders in adolescents. Research Method: The design
of this research is quantitative descriptive, with cross sectional method. Sampling used total sampling with 72 respondents. Data analysis using sperman rank test. Results: Data analysis showed physical activity was in the very good category of 48 respondents (66.7%). Mental emotional disorders are measured by three characteristics, namely the level of depression which is mostly in the normal category as many as 28 respondents (38.6%), with a p-value of 0.008>0.05.The anxiety level of the very severe category was 24
respondents (33.3%), with a p-value of 0.006>0.05, and the stress level with the normal category was 26 respondents (36.1%), with a p-value of 0.000<0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between physical activity levels and mental emotional disorders in adolescents.
